These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PreMD platform at premd.org (the "Service"), operated by PreMD ("we," "us"). By creating an account, browsing as a guest, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. PreMD is operated on a noncommercial basis and is intended for future operation under a nonprofit organization; these Terms are written to remain accurate under that structure.
PreMD provides academic planning tools for students on the path to medicine, including study planning, record-keeping for coursework and experiences, application organization, and curated educational references. The Service is currently provided at no charge to students.
Content in the Service, including study schedules, score projections, application timelines, cost estimates, and references to third-party requirements, is general educational information. It is not medical, legal, financial, or admissions advice, and it is not a guarantee of any examination score or admissions outcome. Requirements, dates, and fees of examining bodies and schools change; always verify them with the official source (for example, the AAMC and the schools to which you apply).
You retain all rights in the records, essays, and other content you create in the Service ("Student Records"). You grant us only the limited license necessary to store, process, display, and synchronize Student Records for you, which is the operation of the Service itself. We claim no other rights in your content. You may export your Student Records at any time using the tools in Settings, and you may delete them at any time.
If you submit a review for publication, you grant us a nonexclusive license to display it in the Service once approved, together with the display name you provide. You may request removal of a published review at [email protected].
The Service, including its software, design, the PreMD name, the PreMD crest, and original content, is the property of PreMD and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Except for your own Student Records, no part of the Service may be copied, modified, distributed, sold, or used to create a derivative or competing service without our prior written permission. The PreMD name and crest may not be used in a way that suggests affiliation or endorsement. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The Service links to third-party resources (for example, Khan Academy, the AAMC, and others) and is built on third-party infrastructure (Supabase, Cloudflare, Google sign-in). Those services are governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their content or conduct. References to third-party products or organizations do not imply endorsement by them or of them.
We work to keep the Service available and accurate, but it is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation. We may add, change, or retire features. Where a change would materially reduce your ability to access your Student Records, we will use reasonable efforts to provide notice and an export opportunity.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PREMD AND ITS OPERATORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, OPPORTUNITY, OR ADMISSIONS OUTCOMES, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS.
You may stop using the Service at any time; exporting and deleting your records is always available to you first. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the operating organization is established [governing state to be designated upon organizational formation], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last revised" date above and, where appropriate, notice within the Service. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance.
Questions about these Terms may be directed to [email protected].
